Adventure Club Community Service
Among ACG's many activities are those which give back
to a community which has treated us so well. A variety
of different service events occur in the ACG throughout
the year.
Yearly, in March, volunteers from within the club
raise hundreds of dollars to assist local researchers
in their endeavor to prevent premature births.
Many members within the ACG also donate food and
prepare meals to serve at Ronald McDonald House.
R McD House is a temporary home to families of children
who are confined in the hospital for extended durations.
The ACG schedules this event four times a year.
Once each year we have a party/picnic designated as
a fundraiser. Monies from the picnic go to provide health
care as well as cleaning supplies for the R McD House.
Yearly, at Christmas, the ACG host's a teddy bear party.
The bears, numbering over 100 for each of the last six years,
are distributed to young children in time of stress by the
Gainesville Fire Department, the Gainesville Police Department,
and the R Mc D House.
We are proud and happy to be an integral part of
Gainesville, and thankful we can participate in so many
of its unique and exciting activities.
